This blog is for my friends and family to check out what I've been doing and also just for me to write out my thoughts on college and all sorts of stuff I encounter. I'll try my best to keep it interesting :)

argh
I can't figure out how to edit my post...annoying. oh well just wanted to say I can do this and I'm really lucky that things have turned out so well so far and I really can't wait for classes to start. With a little sleep and breakfast, everything will be so much easier. Being tired and nervous just saps your ability to hold in emotions or in my case gag reflex...anyway its late so I'm going to bed. night

camp/college
I'm going to be going to school for a few days and I'm nervous but I'm sure it will be fine. Within the course of a few hours I manage to go back and forth between feeling incredibly nervous, then relatively calm, then excited, resigned, panicky, and all sorts of crazy emotions. Maybe the English have it right sending kids off to school young, so they get used to it. They probably think very little of it. I remember one day at governor's school, talking about the difficulties of adjusting to living away from home for six weeks. I admitted it was hard for me to get used to being around people all the time and while one kid agreed with me, another quickly replied that it was just like that at Camp Cheerio, an eight week camp for girls. I was taken back momentarily, but I guess it was kind of strange to my friends that I had never been away from home or my parents for more than a week before. Most of the girls had been going to camp all summer for years and were pleased to find Governor's School beds much more comfortable, food much more edible, and more than enough boys to go around. At Camp Cheerio after several weeks with all girls, one girl admitted that the boys that worked in the kitchen that were ugly enough at the beginning of summer got pretty cute by the end of it. My parents never forced me to go away to these summer camps; I always went to day-camps. They would tell me stories that up in Connecticut (where my dad grew up) all of the grownups would send their kids off to camp for 8 weeks or so and would party all summer. Right before the kids came back, they would have a final huge party to celebrate their wonderful kid-free summer. Now don't get me wrong, it's not like the kids hated going away. My cousin was one of those kids and after being incredibly homesick when she went away the first time at fourteen, returned each year without looking back. Maybe it would be better if I had had that sort of experience, so I wouldn't be worried about living away from home but I think that I was much happier staying at home doing art, watching movies, and taking baths that I would have at camp. Oh well in a few days, I'll be at camp of sorts except with better classes and hopefully cleaner bathrooms and we'll see how it goes :)
Hello
Hi and welcome to my blog. I've been wanting to have one for a while but I always put it off. I guess that if I want to go into architecture or at least some sort of design I should at least try so...here I am.
